We are committed to protecting your personal information and complying with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.

By using this website or registering for our classes and events, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect this information directly from you when you fill out a form, register for a class or event, subscribe to our mailing list, or otherwise interact with our website or studio.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • Process class and event registrations and bookings

We only use your information for the purposes for which it was collected, unless we obtain your consent to use it for another purpose or are required/permitted to do so by law.

3. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We do share certain information with trusted third parties who help us operate the studio and website, including:

  • MindBody — our class scheduling and booking platform, used to manage registrations and appointments

  • Constant Contact — our email marketing platform, used to send newsletters and promotional communications to subscribers

  • Instructors at Boleo Dance Studio — who receive relevant registration and scheduling details (e.g., name, class enrolled in, partner status) in order to teach and organize classes

  • Payment processor(s) integrated with Wix Events (such as Wix Payments or a third-party processor like Stripe or PayPal, depending on how a transaction is completed) — used to securely process online payments for classes and events

  • Google Analytics — used to understand how visitors use our website (see Section 5)

These third parties are only provided the information necessary to perform their function and are expected to handle it securely and in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Cross-border data transfer: Some of the third-party service providers listed above (including MindBody, Constant Contact, and Google Analytics) are based in, or store data in, the United States or other countries outside Canada. As a result, your personal information may be processed or stored outside of Canada and could be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including lawful access by foreign authorities. By using our website and services, you consent to this cross-border transfer of information.

4. Payment Processing

When you register and pay for a class or event through our website (via Wix Events), your payment details are collected and processed by the payment processor integrated with that system. We do not store your full credit card or payment information on our own servers. Please refer to the applicable payment processor's privacy policy for details on how they handle your payment data.

5. Cookies and Analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies, including Google Analytics, to help us understand how visitors interact with our site (e.g., pages viewed, time spent, general location, device/browser type). This information helps us improve our website and marketing.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain parts of our website. For more information on how Google uses data from websites using its services, you can review Google's own privacy policy.

6. Email Marketing

If you subscribe to our mailing list, we use Constant Contact to send newsletters, promotions, and studio updates. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you may withdraw your consent to receive these communications at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" or by contacting us directly (see Section 9).

7. How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, disclosure, or use. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information

  • Withdraw your consent to our collection, use, or disclosure of your information (subject to legal or contractual restrictions)

  • Ask questions about how your information is being handled

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 9. We will respond to your request within a reasonable time frame, as required by law.

9. Contact Us

10. Children's Privacy

If you are registering a minor for classes, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and consent to the collection and use of their information as described in this policy.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will indicate when changes were made. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

This policy is intended to comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and to provide reasonable transparency to visitors from other jurisdictions, including the United States. It is provided as general guidance only and is not a substitute for legal advice. We recommend having this policy reviewed by a lawyer familiar with Canadian privacy law before publishing, particularly given the use of online payment processing.
