Frequently Asked Questions

New to dance, or just new to Boléo? Here are answers to the questions we get asked most. Still have something on your mind? Contact us — we're happy to help.

Do I need a partner?

Not at all. If you come on your own, you'll dance with your instructor. For the most focused, personalized experience, we recommend private lessons: it's just you (or you and a partner) working one-on-one with an instructor, at a pace built entirely around your goals.

Is there parking near Boléo Dance Studio in Downtown Oakville?

We're located at 220 Lakeshore Road East, Oakville. Check out our parking page for recommendations on where to park!

What should I wear to my first dance lesson?

Comfortable clothing you can move freely in. For footwear, a shoe with a smooth (not rubber/grippy) sole works best, since sneakers can stick to the floor. Don't worry about getting it perfect for your first visit — just come as you are.

What are Fiesta Fridays?

This is our bi-weekly social night, open to students and newcomers alike.

Boléo Fiesta Fridays combine a beginner-friendly intro to Latin & Ballroom lesson with an open social dance floor afterward — a relaxed, low-pressure way to practice what you've learned and meet other dancers in the community.

Why private lessons?

Learning to dance is a unique experience to every one.

In this format our instructors deliver personalized learning to get  YOU dancing FAST!

It allows the instructor to  focus on subtle aspects of partner dancing like connection, weight transfer, frame and poise to build you into the dancer you envision yourself to be.
